My ASD Mind

Please do not despise the fact that I can't look into your eyes
and keep in mind that I am not trying to hide.
It's just such a fight that I am struggling with inside
because my eyes, they move aside
no matter how hard that I try.
It's not the first time that I disguise myself inside my mind
because it feels just like my soul is on the line.
I won't deny the kind of trouble it implies
and all the social agony it's caused upon my life.
So when your sight won't crash with mine
I probably just might give myself the time
to spy and gaze upon your smile.
Endulge myself for a little while
unnoticed in the depth of your eyes

It is far too long that ASD and other similar, disorders have been stereotyped as character flaws.
