2009-08-15 I relate to this poem in a big way. You describe the pain and powerlessness of it very well.
Brutal and honest poetry, I like it.

2009-03-10 Wow! What an amazing poem, very honest but beautiful too. I live the line "You smiled in your garden as you lovingly whispered the tips of your fingers underside a flower's petal".
A wonderful tribute to your friend :)

Depression Or Self-Pity[Spining out-of-control on your Arse]

2009-03-04 I think the line 'who cares?' also really captures the essense of depression. A nice poem, and an important theme, too.

2009-03-04 Very nice beginning to this poem, catchy and something we have all thought I'm sure.
The extended metaphor of the teenage horror movie is cool, and it works well. The very last line brings it all together nicely but it feels ungrammatical somehow. Maybe 'teenage-lover scream'??
I enojoyed this one, good stuff.

The Hipster Goblins Who Live In the Trees
|
|
2009-02-27 What wonderful descriptions :) "Hipster goblins', 'beat trees' 'refrigerator graveyard', 'the battle for the afternoon clouds'.
They feel odd, but these descriptions build the ambience of the world of the poem, and it all makes perfect sense.
I really liked this poem, it was fun.

Seeing Through an Artist's Eye

2009-02-27 I love the line "despite flaws numerous as wharf rats". I have never seen a wharf rat, but I imagine they are as numerous as my own flaws.
Nice imagery.

2009-02-22 This is a real gem. I too have felt the smile wane. You capture the sad dignity of the 'other woman' in lovely lines like 'drifts off sobbing seas' and 'like an addict/She craves one more taste'.
Wonderfully emotive.
