ON ME WRITEING!

I write - a bit
Those who
Have never
Met face to
Face
Say I am not
Bad at writing
Enjoy - appreciate
My work

BUT - those who
Have the misfortune
To meet face to face
Few read my work
Most dismiss me - with a flick
Just do not wona- to know more
Of me

Isn't life interesting? Its easier to let our guard down on the internet and open up and to be open to others than it is in person.
That's one way to look at it. Another way is to think about words. Back before Internet, back before telephones, when people wrote letters, the written word often was easier to express feelings than speaking face to face.
Also, people are often not respected in their own communities or families. Lots of folks who have made it to celebrity were geeks or losers in their high schools or in the small towns or never even heard of in their big cities. Sometimes those who should know us best, don't really know us at all because they take us for granted.
It is historical. It speaks of this very thing in the Bible. Jesus was not respected in his own hometown. So, you are in good company.

The glory of the Internet is that you can make yourself into whatever you want to be. Here, you want to be a poet, and that's what you are. Around people who deal with you in the flesh, you are what they expect you to be. "Ken, a poet? That's ridiculous. He's just Ken."
