a homely place

i see you   plain as day

real as life   upstairs   in the hall

on your toes   dancing

as you do when you're happy

living the life you had glimpsed

so many years ago   i see you looking at me

as only you can   without a hint

a trace   a suggestion   of anything but contentment

i see you at peace   a feeling almost lost to you

nearly lost   now found   in this place

this homely place   to which we've returned

this crossroad of domesticity   where so long ago

we imagined we'd be   and now

we step into our dream-come-true world

this union station of our home

where we once stood   and stand again

This is so warm and lovely. A parable of an intimate relationship having come full circle!

Your poetry touches me so deeply. I am emotional as I read and feel each word, see through to hearts and home and love and life and...... yearning. Do I put myself inside these poems or do these poems put themselves inside of me?

As usual your poems always say so much that they leave the mind realing with thoughts and feelings. This is truly beautiful and true.
This is life at its most real ... whatever is real for each of us. In the end we come to a homely place.
