Silent Sam

He sits, inscrutable in his silence,

Immune to intrusion,

Apparently unreachable;

But if you touch his heart

A smile briefly breaks

Like sunrise at dawn…

Then is gone.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
Lost in his inner world, briefly touched, and back again into his silence. This is very touching, indeed, and nice that you could touch his heart.

This is a wonderful piece. It portrays the mood of many men from a certain generation so well.

Beautifully written. I had missed your poems. This is touching and so full of truth. There is a Silent Sam in all our lives.
