Gun Show Girl

Nobody even notices
When she walks through the door
And wanders through the tables
'Cause they've seen her here before
She's looking for steel
With a handle of pearl
She thought she had found it
'Cause she's Gun Show Girl

She's Gun Show Girl
And she's feeling down
She's Gun Show Girl
And no one's around

She didn't know she wanted one
She realized she was wrong
When she saw it on the table
Where it had been all along
It wasn't up for sale but maybe
That could be arranged
And so she waited patiently
For the seller's mind to change

She's Gun Show Girl
And her gun's smoking hot
She's Gun Show Girl
And she wants what you've got

Sometimes you CAN get what you want
And other times you can't
No matter how you beg, cajole
Implore, beseech and rant
He won't let go of it again
He lost it once before
He locks it tightly in its case
And shows her to the door

She's Gun Show Girl
And she's feeling down
She's Gun Show Girl
And you're not around

I went to gun show once. I found it almost surreal. I've been a shooter most of my life but always thought of guns as very serious business. The Easy offhanded environment I found at the show honestly scared me.
