Saragasso
Seabirds nestRock on waves at rest
Water wide and deep as cried
Sanctuary Saragasso Sea
Drowning dreamers turn and tossed
Heaven lurched against the side and crossed
Worst and best
Were mixed
Air with soil
Water, oil
Turtles swim through emerald weeds
Heralds of Atlantean gates where
Mermaids bleed beauty lost as rain
Weaving couplets into sonnets
Into caskets
Burials for words and meanings
Thought to be
Lost in a deep Saragasso Sea
