Claudia Amongst The Unknown
Claudia applying shadows like mascaraCheek bones dream tones
Sombre stars shine like Night
Longing through her eyes,
Reels of sleeping cinema toss like forests of waves
Lost souls floundering towards a midnight Shore
Where famished seagulls devour bits of word and light
From dark hallways filled with mirrored novels not quite there,
Sacrificial lambs swallowing reinvented histories reappear
Where modern wolves patrol the courtyards marble red
And dark ink spills from lips and hills of chalk marking time
Painting signs for all the lost souls to read then leave
For what is ever but unknown.
