( I might have whispered your name)

now still a river between us

embraces
carved in
your night place
fills my sleepless hand
with hunger
as I silently caress
the memory
of what the light shaped
your shadow
into

all of this
the night kindly hides
in her black dress

maybe someday
we will meet again
in her veil

now still a river
between us

This is sad and romantic, and filled with longing and remembrances of what was. Your words were soft music playing this drama out. Sweetly, bittersweetly, it sang its song of memories and desires.
