As a means of introducing myself I have posted a poem of mine written some 8 years ago. Although it has great personal meaning to me, I would hope that you find something within its words.
Thank you
Liam

The Passing of Today

That crimson sunsets should kiss our brow
On the death of this day now passed;
Unto a future that is our now
And golden rays the morn would cast
Decidious dreams that to nightmares cede,
Perpetual visions of times since gone;
Resurrection found in those tears we bleed
Succour awaits us in the coming dawn

I'm glad you've chosen a personal poem to begin your introduction. No one can know your story, but all of us can see via this poem that it is something of significance. As you said, each of us can bring something to the poem. I focused on (nature's) Resurrection and Succour.
