Singing To Cats

Yes I caterwaul.
After all I'm only human.
Who does not wail these days
Knows not what's going on.

I sing to cats of fishes
Swimming in the deep
I have to try to keep some
Form of sanity flowing.

This knowing what goes on
Is too much for any human
So I sashay to my pride and
Yes they sing along.

Songs and prides though
Don't hide all that
Is wrong, yet,
Somehow we must
Stay strong.

Tom Benson
A good piece and it can be summarised by joining the first and final stanzas. Staying strong is always much easier when there is a companion - even at a distance.

When the going gets tough, a good caterwaul can do the trick, your final couple of lines says it all.

And I bet they wait for your song. They like attention.
Perhaps they purr along. You make them happy. Nice
write.

The title sparked my interest, and the poem was a delightful fulfillment of pleasant expectations! Exquisite pun in the first line, too.
