Nocturnal Love
I hear him approaching from the edge of townAs i sit as a Juliet on the balcony.
It is just before dawn and the thoughts have been racing...
The world has become so cold and lonely and hurtful of late,
I wonder if love will enfold me once more.
And there he is, suddenly with me yet unseen.
I feel his love of life spark a flame around the scene.
It is a warm tune he sings to me so serene
Each note full throated and giving.
My little blackbird...
I play your song as I prepare for the day
Knowing love will unfold in many ways.
