Doves and Ravens

Like a riddle wrapped in forbidden mystery
Glowing bright as a dove burning in the snow
Frozen night lost like love dreaming far below
With a question trapped in hidden misery

A fairy face behind the violets trapped and bound to rocks
Suddenly so ethereal, somewhat sublimely immaterial grace
In fields of lace and mind the silence wrapped around your socks
Are gone away your ankles stray and that untimely world is but a thought to race

A clock filled with empty ghosts is chiming backwards rhymes and schemes
The Night chilled bones are clattering, flocks of haunted ravens chattering
About something or the other is always such a bother, dreams
Are dying to escape into another form of tape or glue something

Like a question wrapped in forbidden mystery
Frozen Night lost like love dreaming far below
Glowing bright as a dove burning in the snow
Like a riddle wrapped in hidden misery . . .
