On a suicide mission in the rain
He was unable to forget her
With a Valentine's bullet to the brain

At a loss for words or some expression
A finger for a figure a penny triggers thought
Operation scheduled for a lesion
Returning all those things you never knew that you bought

She threw the book away , already read
Thumb smudged footnote dogearred pages annotated
Forgone plot anyway a loaf of bread
"Wonder what ?" he wrote in an aftermath belated
