"Bel Hevi" is of Tok Pisin and literally translates as "bell heavy" and refers to that heavy sinking feeling that often accompanies extreme sadness.
Enough to fall back into the time
when opinions meant nothing to me;
my honesty rarely came so easily
yours would never have left an ache.
Enough to travel the fast roads
heedless of hazards and cautions;
'success' was causing another crash
and the burn, my adrenaline rush.
Enough to keep my guard in place
regardless of men's wit and charm;
to keep my damn mouth shut, and
quit worrying over spilled time.
Yet, being strong is not enough
when my heart opens without pause;
for as the notion of 'reality' invades
my dreams, I'm left numbly wide awake.

Bel Hevi
If I could just be strong again...Enough to fall back into the time
when opinions meant nothing to me;
my honesty rarely came so easily
yours would never have left an ache.
Enough to travel the fast roads
heedless of hazards and cautions;
'success' was causing another crash
and the burn, my adrenaline rush.
Enough to keep my guard in place
regardless of men's wit and charm;
to keep my damn mouth shut, and
quit worrying over spilled time.
Yet, being strong is not enough
when my heart opens without pause;
for as the notion of 'reality' invades
my dreams, I'm left numbly wide awake.
