When I was a little girl I lived in quite an isolated area and my best friend for awhile was a tree that used to climb and sit in every day....So I have recently been learning how to play guitar.... this is my attempt at writing a love song about a tree

Mallee

I saw her standing
Alone in the crowd
Her energy so grounded
But her head was in the clouds

I moved toward her
From the hill so steep
I knew she'd never leave
Her roots ran too deep

I'd run to see her
Everyday after school
I'd tell her her all my secrets
She'd always play it cool

She was my soulmate
All my Childhood
My best friend
She was made of wood

When I grew up
They cut her down
Chopped her into firewood
And tossed her on the ground

She kept me warm for awhile
By the fireside
And no-one ever knew
How much I cried ..for my Mallee Tree

She was a Mallee Tree
Her roots ran deep
She was a Mallee tree

We were best friends Mall-ee and me
She could never run away from me
