Sinking Again

I find myself
Back here again
Drowning in the arms
Of a familiar friend

Lost underneath waves
In the ocean, deep
Where stillness hides
The descent is steep

When I look up, I see
The dwindling light
Darkness seems safer
More black, less white

I'll stay here drifting
Surrounded by fears
Til the moon of my making
Turns the tide of my tears

Ivan R
This is striking, so beautiful, a thousand images and feelings in these few lines, a great poem this is.

The safety of the dark.

A familiar friend.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
there is weariness and resignation in your voice, but also a certainty that all is not lost in your final two lines.

the metaphor is poignant, and the rhymes are like waves.
