Thought Places
Stars stare from their placesSet in wrapping paper skies, so deep, dark blue,
Like Christmas Tree lights or sleepless ghost eyes
Burning and blinking like an eternity without a conscious end
While lost inside a world below
Whirling through nights in dreams of snow,
Rising and sinking ephemerally like reality's pretend
To share retraces
Patterns backward breaking syllables speaking silence inverse chiming
Like ladders formed of words and dust, like gardens in bloom pantomiming,
Like looks behind faces
