THE SAFETY NET!
The age I were born into - in 1953The Welfare State - were established
From conception to grave
A safety net to catch those in need
A Health Service - The N H S - second to none!
Now all that of The Labour government voted in - in 1945!
Welfare State - 1948!
Now under threat - underfunded!
Privateers now lay in wait!
The Safety Net - now full of holes - many oh so many fulling through!
The hopes - the expectations - of 1945 - fading into memory's of those who voted Then for The Labour Party!
Despairing people - in fear - wait!
