Poets & Artists

We saw a hawk resting

atop a fence post,

and though we see many hawks

we noted this

for it looked so stark,

even helpless, against the cold

and wintry scene,

and I thought

of being helpless and cold,

while you noticed how the feathers

ruffled in the wind.

Poets & Artists oftentimes project their feelings upon nature, don't they? Love the way you've encapsulated something that is quite transient in verse.

There's art in poetry and poetry in art. How lucky the subjects both have a muse. Maybe we could bring philosophy in and day the wind is given purpose by the feathers, or the feathers are made glorious by the wind...

And then there's the beauty in both.
What a blessing!
