In The Shade
Just beyond the twisted forest where dreams lie in the shadeUnder a lavender sky without a wish to wonder why
Exchanging places with each other was no bother for a change
An inner sigh so deep as you sat on my lap and drew me a map
Of how to get to somewhere sleep was as free as the air
Now come with me you breathed a verb and my reply was just a word
Into your ear so seashell coral the report was oral classroom style
Feeling you move astride a satin thigh so burnished fawn,
Much later on now both somehow so withdrawn into already made
Just beyond the twisted forest where dreams lie in the shade . . .
