One of my ' old codgers ' works. Or one of sat on the hill of fools works. You my dear readers decide.
Looking at the River Despair
Not playing The Stick Game Of Pooh
No more of playing foolish games
I see hopes expectations passing by beneath me
Of o so many dashed and broken dreams
River flowing despairingly to - I KNOW - what awaits
Tears being shed the river soon to be in flood
Washing away the land either side of well being
Hard standing safe no more
As I look down from this Bridge of Sighs
My tears flowing down my face dripping off my chin
Adding to the flowing river - that will soon be in flood
