ROTTWEILER PASSING BY
One morning I were stood outside my abodeSmoking as I usually can be seen partaking
When a woman were about to walk on by
With her were her Rottweiler - a dog with a reputation
Undeserved
I gave my morning greeting to both
The lady smiled at me
Her rottweiler - I swear also gave me a smile likewise
The gorgeous Rottweiler bounded to the top step of my front garden
I offered my hand for her - to sniff - the rottweiler - that is - some people!
Can be so perverse!
Rotty duly gave my hand a sniff - and instantly liked what my scent informed her
Wanted to know all about me - put her paws about me
Rotty's human full of apologies
' Nothing to apologize for ' says I
' Rotty, just wanted to give me a hug '
The lady, looked in need of a cup of tea
So I said to Rotty; ' best you take your human home, love '
' She needs a brew '
Rotty, reluctantly agreed to my suggestion
We bid each other a fond farewell
Rotty's reluctance to part clear to see in her eyes
Maybe one day we will play games - Of Rough And Tumble ' ; yet!
