LISTANING ON THE LOOP
I boarded The Loop out side The Royal across the road from the harbourTook a seat away from people there were a man agede by life he had - for now Haveing -slumpt is seat a little back from me across the isle of seats
I were concernde about the lad - I wonded should I ask the driver to drive
The lad strait to A&E! - he were looking proper unwell!
I thort again and askde the lad; ' You OK, mate?
He stared - look towards me - as if to say - who's that talking to - me?
He had mask on - that put upside down and one just one ruber glove, kind of a White one on his right hand I recall
'' I'm Ok, '' said the poorly looking man
He ask ; '' did we know each other? '' '' no - we've just met! '' I smiled
Then we had conversation - more he talked I listand.
We exchangde names, the lads name is Paul - hair unkempt - scrufey in need of
Of wash and brush up - needed of a barbers care!
That were not easy as he spoke throue his maskde
I nodded - smiled - made sounds as a response - shock my head - said
Yes and no, when I some times court bits of sentence or two I could hear from him
So the lad know he had my atenshan and I were listaning to him - and were judging Him
He told me - as he was telling me that he had an hernea he lifted his grubby T shurt - said grubby - be for I were abull to say ; ' I'd rather not! '
He revealed his exsendid belly button - NOT a prity site I tell you!
It were right derty each stain adding emperfes to his story of his life so far
The Loop arivde at home would stop - The Brown Jug - we gave each other a friendly smile - he wonted to shake hands - both know that in thees days a - NO NO!
He offerd me his elbow I offerd mine, we touchde elbows
I took it he were smiling behind his mask!
As I got up to step off The Loop - he notesd a ziper of my bloke bag were unzipt!
Bless the lad he pointed that out to me - sounded proud of himself to of dun the right thing!
He dun an honest thing, proud of letting me know. ' cant let you be robed said he. '
Some times - just listaning - helps more than we can ever know - lifting the spirit
Of the one who we taken the time out of our own life too listan too
On The Loop thousnds of storys waiting to be shared!
