gratitude to afrodite and bibek for adding two wonderful words to my vocabulary. i offer one by way of thanks.

prairie

a prairie day, lying side by side, dreamily

admiring the blue above, the drifting clouds—

susurrus of willowy grass and seed-heads

keeping time, a monet's palette of wildflowers

over-spreading the prairie, brought here

by wind, by buzzing bees, by means zoophilous

almost overcome by the petrichor, so evocative

of childhood—would that love were as rich as this day.

ah, such a beautiful day you've described in your poem. and, yes, petrichor is one of my favorite words -- i love the smell of earth after rain.

A relaxing read, great phrase "a Monet's palette of wildflowers." I am also educated by two of the words, I only know petrichor, love that smell.
