AS HE WALKED

He walked
With out
Braking his step
His walking stick
Going tap tap
Stepping out
He smilde
He cracked
A joke
Those he past
Smiled back
Laughter returned
No one knew him
From Adam before then
Some how they did from then on

Time to time
He'd stop check his step
Listen - say somert
Strangers before then
A difference made
One not involved
Says ' who's he? '
' I thort he were a mate of yours! '
He walked on smiling all the same

Just another day in life for all
No one knew his name
As he did not know their name/s
Yet in an unexplainable way
They knew each other very well
