MAN ACROSS THE ROAD (Completed)
Across the roadWorks a man
Working hard
Making a living
He's a migrant
A refugee from
Oppression & all
All that that involves
Involved him - maybe
He did like me and mate
Doing the right thing at the time
That he like us did not regret
Now he's working in his shop across the road
Up the road
Those who
See some one
To pick on for their
Little minds own amusement
Me and me mate
Stand beside the man
Stand up to counted
Me mate and me not so young
We're no spring bantam cocks
As once we were
But we know What is right & What is wrong
Me mate helping sorting out the man across the road
Paper work
When theres some unwarranted pushing & shuveing
Words shouted - words - from the bayers from up the road
Outside the mans bissnes
I get on the phone I call 999 - to report a hate crime
Me and me mate know the risks - that thoses up the road
Could turn on us both - not that we are brave - I for one
Brick it in my pants!
But me and me mate do what is the right thing
Give those who are in need of a fair go in life
What is right doing the right thing for the likes
Of the man across the road!
