Cinders

Jade goblets smashed on marble floors in a ballroom of stolen chandeliers
Footsteps echo down an Escher hall as Bloody Cinderella falls up the downside stair
Has the band forgotten her so soon playing a moonlight sonata in her hair
Golden fish sing swimming in a bowl plastered to novel ceilings of high and low
Having said it all it's time to swim away but that's just a wave to stall
So quaint to miss the Morning's early call
It's faint it is, perhaps an afterglow .
