NETTA (JANET) SYRETT 1870 - 1943 (Additans)

Netta (Janet) Syrett - Suffragette - Feminist - Lesbian
She fault for her human rights in her books
Till her dying days - she never gave up gave in
A rebel to the end - each time Netta is found again
Her books read by those who'd find by chance - read and think
Breaths life back into Netta - Netta - lives again - she specks
Again with her words - rebellious words of course
As I walk down Ramsgate Harbor street - I now look up on wall of 23
I see Netta looking from the window she is smiling down to me giving a waive
I look up smile back to Netta waive back
Apartment above the shop her family home back in 1870 - when Netta were born
Now 23 is a barbers
As yet no Blue Plaque adorn 23 - why is this so?
Maybe 'cos she batted for the wrong side?
