so passed the night

i lay under the stars

  dew-soaked

admiring fireflies and the celestial display

  mosquito-bit

summer triangle above

  vega blue-white

in lyre, denab in cygnus

  altair in aquila

sleep wouldn't come

  the old familiars soothed

polaris, ursa major, ursa minor, cassiopea

 sleep wouldn't come

familiar sounds

 bull-frogs

a faint siren, coyotes

 soothed

sleep wouldn't come

the sky lightened

I am liking this much: cool, clear, vivid, skilled, poised poetic language.
