I found this very hard to write.
Hope this isn't to upsetting for people to read.

THEY STILL SHOOT HORSES DON'T THEY

Days move on rapidly,
leaving thoughts behind.
Like holding water in your hands,
Leaking from ones mind.

Memories fall away,
With the ticking of the clock.
Another second passes by,
As one more year is lost.

Alzheimer's is a terrible thing,
To most its as though their cursed.
Waking in the morning,
Stranger by your side,
That would be the worst.

To travel though your mind,
With sails against the wind.
To look into the mirror;
Who is that face within?

I never want to
Forget the life we shared.
To do just that,
You may think I never cared.

To lose that time forever,
To be broken in that way.
Like a fallen animal,
Don't put me out to pasture,
They still shoot horses,
Don't they.
