Rusting Cages
Rust from a broken kingdom penetrates the subjects poresAn ancient cage disintegrates between the bars eyes peering
Fingerless hands, armless hands reaching behind to scratch the sores
Trust in a spoken language unseen words beyond hearing
Limned against a raging skyline, burning panoramas
Skimmed like helpless fish intertwine lost amidst such dramas
Speech flounders on polluted shores, choked in plastic and sand
Sleep lies in wait, dying on the vine, to fail to understand
