Gloria Wore
Once Gloria wore the crown in epic mythic tinsel townWearing a glittering gown woven of stars and tin
Swooning as the curtains fell the night so dark within
Queen of the movies, walking through a silent film, looking down
Upon cascading rainbow colors spilling bright onto the boulevard
Coveters of golden hoards fantasy lovers pasted on high billboards
Dancing with the Pagan King of swashbuckling themes were added to the card
Trumpeter swans swam in circling lakes of dawn, drakes in line crossed wonton swords
Took to the skies that dressed the hills
In costumes of nostalgic melancholic tunes
Marching bands playing in the fills
Cigar smoke and whisky in dark backrooms
