Words
Silence may be golden
May be deafening
May be companionable
May be self-protective
May be punishment
May be fraught
May be drenched in implication
What is this silence I hear
~
Silence is a concept
I hear the roar of emptiness
A conch shell held to my ear
Surf crashing
Gulls crying
An inner-dialogue
No less insistent than waves
~
Let us end this noisy silence
It is purposeless
We have voices
Our time is finite
If it proves to be final
Then let it be final
I want to hear the words
