~composed while listening to The Eddie Higgins Trio album 'Again"..

Again

They met again in early evening in her favourite cafe
Intimate outdoor tables on the little patio
Were shaded by moonlight lamps like a satin soft halo
He embraced her like a nonchalant shrug she knew
Him as well as anyone ever could who hid
From the world certain select objective things,

Soft jazz trio background playing canvas hues
Streetscapes melting into a midnight boulevard
Laughter mingling with the fear of love
Her fragrance was like a jasmine kiss
Euphoric morphine aftertaste,
(Too much is almost enough, she breathed,
Make me a metamorphosis, take my heart, my breath my blood)

A smile like a sad promise lipsticked her lips,
(He held her like a vision, like a shadow of a hope composed of holes in the sky)

Lost in the waves of an ocean of piano blues
He reached to brush her fingertips
(Bliss behind those violet eyelids taking hungry sips,
There was no way for him to turn away while touching in some strange way, confusion bursts are just another colour)
They danced, hand in hand, wordless bodies swaying
Imagination playing:Again~
