TIME FOR A BREAK

Was Oscar Wilde,
When they locked him inside.
Did Edward lear,
When Van Gogh cut off an ear.

Did Lewis Carroll,
At Christmas time.
Because it was,
That time of year.

When Alexandra bell,
First called Mr Watson.
Did Sherlock Holmes,
Wished it was he;
Who was phoned.

It's thoughts like these,
That keep me awake.
Sometimes you see,
I need a break.
So I'm going to stop writing,
For coffee and cake.

This is almost an encyclopedia of similes (I think I would call them) and of course is also sprinkled with the humour your pen is known for placing. :)
