Before a brief light a passing flame flares and dies
A dear companion for this loneliness
Shares a drink of Night, mindreading my namesakes time flies
It runs it flees before an awesome tide, the dead
Words once living now return to haunt those rooms behind the boards
Like a hopeless soul hoards flat stolen treasures hidden in imaginary houses
Without even windows or an odd door appears when the eyes are not to see
That which is made, becoming emptiness
Perhaps a quick slip into,
Nothingness . . .
