Painful Secret
As if the world were locked into some painful secretThat may not be revealed
No words will serve
Nothing to be said,
Fainting memories but chains of incandescent circumstance
Choking on each breath recalled
From the realm of ghosts and shadows of the shells we once wore to show,
Ourselves as there, we are not even as it appears to be
For now as then this passage moves into another same
Sorrow and Joy, is a gamble a bet made by others paid for by who,
Is it that touches more than a surface fading film of days
And nights like clothes arrive to cover one's naked fright and fear,
Nothing to be said
No words will serve
That, may not be revealed
As if the world were locked into some painful secret .
