Another Room Please

A woman of letters
She was, rather well read
( rented a room)
In the back of his head
Slipped her card
Under the door
Disregard
What's on the floor
It crumples,it litters
How much for a light ?
It's not that, it matters
Another, goodnight.

(Still here, this morning ?)

Down the hall there is a wardrobe
(You may use)
Though it is packed with disguises
It was as empty once as thought
Just like some things that can't be bought
(please excuse)
Uncomfortable surprises
(Turn on the lamp shaped like a globe

(Disregard
What's on the card
Under the door
What's on the floor
In the back of his head)

Check out is at nine
Looks like someone forgot to sign
Signatures benign
A woman of letters
She was, rather well read . . .
