~Come so~

 

 



Come so~bird of beauty
your shadow by my breast
give me the happiness of life
when times of autumn rest


Come so~hall of forest
your shadow by my soul
give me the strength of life
when the light speaks no more


Come so~we'll be mourning
on wings above tree
the darkness still wanders
as the dawn rests in me


Come so~we'll be longing
on wings above shore
the light still wanders
as a mirage forevermore

As winter and long nights approach your poem of shadows and "mourning . . . the darkness" sends a shudder and a chill down my spine, but also the anticipation of the warmth of long evenings with a book, maybe even one to love.

I anticipate it cautiously.
