something for kindred spirits
after hours
If you close the door, the night could last forever
Keep the sunshine out and say hello to never
All the people are dancing and they're havin such fun
I wish it could happen to me
But if you close the door, I'd never have to see the day again.
~after hours, lou reed
~
what is all this bustle
around me
this sound and fury
this
saturday night queen's pawn
to d4
hoping to chessmate
a way to drunk or stoned or bedded
though beds are optional
busy bees
while i sip my tea with honey
honey
and wish i were nowhere else
and anywhere else
~
so many poems
differentiating lonely
and alone
so many cries and denies
~
my tea and i
have a cozy relationship
little sips
hints of honey
honey
warm and sweet nectar
between my lips
slip sliding down my throat
~
outside
yin
is meeting yang
tourists
have slipped into the bars
and eateries
or slipped back to their home-aways
leaving
the homeless in peace
to imbibe their way to induced coma
and the natives
to turn on their devices
to go gently
into this sweet, cold night
~
the need to convince
an absence
of loneliness is what a clinician might call
in techincal terms
a
slam dunk
~
lonely?
~
less than 24 blocks away
the ocean
the salt sea
the big aquarium
the tub without a plug
the east side of the ring of fire
the fisherman's delight
orca's fun fair
aeriel and nemo's soundstage
typee's last stand
the domain of the plastic gyre
and here
surfers in wetsuits risk the rocks to catch a last wave
and love goes wanting
~
because
the dolphins are somewhere else
