Some have asked me why I read so many books

I look up, with a withering look, a look saying

'' What a daft question to ask me! ''
Then I read from the book, I  happen to be reading
Depending on the book, its subject matter

Brings about the appropriate response from the asker
From '' Why did no one tell me that!? '', from a history book
To tears from a poem read from a book of poetry

''That's why I read books! '', I say to those who ask me such a daft question!
