Almost April
Almost April thought I saw you in the snow
Although the trees were weaving a promising shadow
Of things we know remain unseen
Although the wind hinted colors of violet and green,
The Sun was shining a molten lamp , aglow
Touched your eyes at once wide awake and strangely withdrawn
As though the ghosts of rainfalls past were murmuring your name
Speaking of a touch that once meant so much like the dawn
Behind the breaking Night just before back from where we came
To see the last light taking away all that we know
Almost April thought I saw you in the snow . , ,
