INTRODUCTION TO LIFE PART ONE

Tinnitus started with me quite young,
Having a hypersensitivity hearing no fun.
Let me explain how my introduction
to noise started.
Mum and dad getting up at 6am,
This was the way my life was fated.
Father with his sargent majors voice
Always resonated,
This was the year the government changed
The age of adulthood to eighteen from
Twenty one,
The age I cut my apron strings, My apologies
to my dad and mum.
Know living in a bedsit in London within a house
Getting woken up by scampering and squeaking
Of a tiny mouse.
Tiny feet running across my bed at night
Gave my imagination such a fright
Reggae music pumping out almost every night
For heaven's sake wanted to sleep not stay awake
Shift work fresh french loaf smell one morning
Put on table 6am jumped back into bed
Change of shift today woke up later than I'd expect
At least I had time to cut into my french stick
Tried mousetraps mice missed them pretty quick
Picked up bread felt light saw a tiny hole felt disgust
while I sleep those tiny mice had eaten all the bread
only leaving the outside crust .

Alan, your experience of tinnitus is very well-pictured. It makes me understand the feeling in a 3-dimmensional way!
There is a popular belief in Iran that says if you hear a ringing in your right ear, a relative is mentioning you somewhere, and if your left ear rings, a friend is remembering you!

"Father with his *sergeant major's* voice. "( Are you saying that it was high? I think that's how they should sound! :-p)

Interesting to know that sometime in the U.K history, 21 was the age of adulthooh! Never heard of that!

*Now* in line 14 I think.

regards,
Sabereh
