THE SICKLY CARROT

First carrot was formed some would say,
There was something wrong with it.
It had a paleness that made it look sick,
The poor little carrot the dullest of greys.

The ginger bread men caught little carrot crying,
He didn't wish to be a boring colour in the ground.
What colour would he be if he could choose,
Pink or violet, Yellow or even the colour blue.

Gingerbread men had an inspirational thought,
They gathered up all their flowerpot friends.
As well as the Cheeselets and the treacle men,
To the wisest of owls a message they'd send.

Prey tell us oh wisest of owls,
Sitting so high in the oldest of tree's.
What colour if any a little carrot should be.
The answer came back,
Via the Badger in the bowler hat.

For he was one of the wisest old owls,
The Badger most trusted of all friends.
He told him " To find the carrots true colour,
To follow through to the rainbows end.

They followed the Badger through the forest,
Making an early start.
They all decided to go,
The Cheeselets pulled the cart.

When one of the wheels came off,
Treacle men got stuck in holding up the cart.
The carrot could see the end of the forest,
If someone was walking it really wasn't far.

Deciding amongst themselves who would
carry, The little carrot it was obviously,
The badger in the bowler hat he wouldn't
Tarry, To the end of the forest he moved
In a hurry. Reaching the end in a flurry.

Carrot was pleased when he saw the rainbow,
Badger in the bowler hat saw him start coughing.
He gave him the only thing he had a haliborange,
As he basked in the rainbows light,
The pale little carrot looked no longer sickly.
Instead he was the most splendid colour orange.

As the lettuce saw him it turned a little green,
Carrot being orange was the strangest he had seen.
As for all his friends that helped him for their sake,
He treated them to a party and gave them all
carrot cake.
