few have hearing acute enough

to do without

(some do)

almost everyone uses a tuner

they are cheap

snark, fender, maybe gibson, lots of choices

they approximate pitch, a-440

but fall short

that's why you see players, mid-song

reach for the pegs

but it is more fun to tune by ear

(when playing alone)

live with the consequences 

listen for the sine waves

feel them against your chest

via the backing—the mahogany

or rosewood or exotic-wood backing

when the strings are out of sync

you will hear, and feel, woo woo woo

when the waves fall into synchronization

you will hear and feel

wooooooooooooooooooooooooo

strings a-tune, music at hand, at hands

a-tune with the cosmic harmonic
