JUST A POETEER.

No I'm not a puppeteer,
I'm just your average poeteer.
Weaving stories all day long,
Not trying to write all the wrongs.

Enjoying the flow and ebb,
Watching the spider spin it's web.
Thinking if only it could talk,
Wondering what it may have said.

Spinning yarns from it's worldwide web,
What a wonderful place it would be.
To stop and talk to the trees especially,
When they could stop and chat to me.

I wonder what the critters would say,
Would they tell us to put our weapons away.
Rise up against us for killing their kind,
Each and every single day.

Maybe it's better this way,
That we can't speak to them.
And they won't speak to us,
We wouldn't know what to say.

Would we carry on oblivious,
With our killing ways.
If only they could speak;
I wonder what they would say,
Maybe it's better this way.

A delight poem, Alan. I especially love the almost-nursery rhymes
