DEVASTATION

Today I'm the nose of society,
I cannot tell, how bad war smells.

No matter how I dream,
My ears cannot curtail the screams.

My open eyes cannot bare to see,
The devastation all around.
With torn of limbs wounded;
So many dead children,
On this broken soiled ground.

I cannot voice how I feel anymore,
As my body gives up falling down.
My throats burned out by this acrid
Dust, Choking me and all around.

How I wish for my dementia days,
So I will not remember what
happened today.
Only the niceties of what came
before,
Before this manmade war.
