Despair - hopelessness 
Now stalks the land
Live each day as it comes

Tomorrow, well

An unknown time
The younger than I
Have not the future

That I had in my past
So they will not have a past
To look back on, talk about

In my day students
Could obtain grants
Tutorials free
And the students protested
Now students saddled with
Debt till they are in their forties
Can't afford to protest against injustice!

When I were younger
Leave a job on the Friday
Start a new job on the Monday
Fly the nest, move into the first flat
Save up, obtain a mortgage, plans made
Map out a future

Those younger than I
Working 15 hours

Others on zero hours contracts

Working as & when required
No hope of flying the nest
Dependant on the bank of Dad & Mum
