DEAR GOD WILL OUR SUFFERING EVER BE ENOUGH

Tell me god what's wrong with me,
I closed my eyes to what I can see.
Children dying in our streets,
A mother covers eyes and weeps.

I often wonder god I often do,
When Jesus died did you.
Close your eyes on mankind to,
I wouldn't be surprised if you do.

I often ponder dear god on this,
Only you wiped out the dinosaurs.
What did they do that made you so pissed,
And will mankind end up like this.

Or do you grimace a rye smile,
Watching us holding a dead child.
Do you take any joy do you lose any sleep,
In Watching us destroy ourselves? As
a mother holds her dead child and weeps.

Or maybe your waiting as we live in denial,,
Until man realises that nobody should die.
And until that day that we open our eyes,
Mankind will never be welcome in paradise.

What a fabulous idea for a poem, Alan. The thing that I think we should realise, is that we have been indoctrinated to believe that human beings are the prime living force. We certainly seem to be on the planet, don't we... the top of the food chain as it were. But each species might think of itself of such importance: That they are the essential species on the planet. And we are unmoved when we are told that in the event of a full blown atomic war only the cockroaches will survive. Might they have been "God's" chosen ones all along?
Blessings, Allen
